舞台は利根川の源流域、奥利根。群馬県と新潟県の県境にある標高1,831メートルの大水上山、南面の雪渓。ターゲットは源流域に生息する大型のイワナ。本流・渓流釣りの名手として名高い井上聡さんが奥利根を訪れ、源流・大イワナ釣りに挑む。手付かずの大自然が残る夏の秘境の地で、長竿を駆使し、50cmを超える大イワナとの一騎打ちは、まさに圧巻。源流域における大型のイワナを釣り上げるコツや必須アイテムを紹介。また釣り人を癒す温泉×絶品郷土料理も紹介する。
