栃木県日光市の中禅寺湖は多様な種類のトラウトが生息しているが、釣り人から絶大な人気を集めるのがレイクトラウト。希少性が高く大型サイズもいることから引き味も存分に楽しめる魚だ。今回、中禅寺湖でレイクトラウトを狙うのは、昨年初めて中禅寺湖を訪れ釣り上げたと言うプロアングラー佐藤文紀さん。果たして佐藤さんは良型との出会いを果たせるだろうか。また中禅寺湖以外では、流入河川の湯川で美しい魚体のブルックトラウトも追い求める。
