アオリイカは近年の研究で3種類に分けられているが、そのなかで最も大きくなるのがアカイカ型と言われるアオリイカ。今回の舞台は、そのアカイカ型アオリイカが多く潜む鹿児島県竹島エリア。向かったのは、イカ釣りの名手・富所潤さんと大型をまだ手にしたことがないという谷田圭さん。次々に大型がヒットして歓喜に包まれる船上。そして更なる強い引きが二人を襲う。鳴り止まないドラグ音、限界まで曲がるロッドに大興奮！夢のサイズ4キロ超えを達成できるだろうか！？
